DECADES OF EXPERIENCE WITH A COMMON PHILOSOPHY: SUCCESS IS MEASURED BY OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE, PERSONAL INTEGRITY AND INDUSTRY LEADING TECHNOLOGIES
OUR HISTORY:
Following in his father Bruce Hamlett’s footsteps, Randy Hamlett (along with wife Sue), opened Hamlett Environmental Technologies in 1995. Their vision was to provide improved focus towards "process" equipment that is manufactured by leading wastewater and water treatment companies.
"After learning from the best (my father), I decided that my personal strengths and career interests favored the process engineering side of the market.” This new venture proved to be a good decision and just two years after forming the company, they were ready to expand and decided to hire Scott Kafka.
Scott Kafka joined Hamlett Environmental Technologies, leaving a project manager position with Aqua Aerobics. The fit was natural and the Hamlett team enjoyed many years of success. As the needs of the Industry grew and changed over the years, Hamlett Environmental adapted as well, both in staffing and equipment solutions.
Jennifer Wagner was brought on in 2013 to work directly with facilities on projects, parts and service. Needs beyond the core process equipment were also realized and Hamlett began to represent complimentary equipment such as specialty pumps, chemical feed equipment, process valves and analyzers.
In 2019, after nearly 30 years in the business, Randy decided to initiate his succession strategy and the company was purchased by Scott Kafka and Jennifer Wagner. As part of the succession plan, Scott was promoted to President and Randy began transferring some of his key responsibilities to Jennifer, with her moving into the Vice President role. The company was also expanded to better support the company’s growth as well as direction for the future. The plan set in place allowed for a seamless and steady transition for the company and Randy happily retired at the end of 2021.
The Hamlett team looks forward to the future and continuing the tradition of excellence set forth by Randy, and nearly half a century ago, his father Bruce.
OUR TEAM:
As current President, Scott Kafka leads the company towards new visions and goals while maintaining the core values held for generations before. Shortly after joining Hamlett Environmental Technologies in 1997, he acquired his Michigan Professional Engineering License, adding even greater technical strength to his already strong resume. Scott has a natural ability to look holistically at problems, develop thoughtful and innovative solutions, and always goes above and beyond for his customers. He focuses on capital design projects involving specialized process equipment as well as assisting municipal and industrial facilities across the state.
Jennifer Wagner joined the company in 2013, having experience in outside sales, project management and technical expertise in valves, pumps, and controls. She also represented the third generation from the Hamlett family in the Water Industry being that she is also Randy and Sue Hamlett’s daughter. Jennifer initially spent her time working directly with municipalities but has since expanded her role into also working on capital projects with consulting firms as well as facilities directly. Jennifer is the current Vice President of Hamlett Environmental and is boundlessly passionate about the water industry, her customers, and protecting the environment and public health.
Keeping sight on maintaining top notch customer support, Jackie Duke was hired in early 2018 to oversee Office Operations and Sales Support. Her sense of urgency and attention to detail quickly made her an asset for project management and bookkeeping. Jackie manages the daily operation of the company, provides sales support on all orders and projects, and is the friendly voice you hear when you call into the office. Her accounting skills, organizational strengths, and desire to help our customers have helped Hamlett Environmental continue to provide excellent customer service and responsiveness.
In 2019, Nathan Hunter was brought on board to increase Hamlett’s ability to support our customers, especially at the local treatment facilities. He works directly with municipalities in water resource recovery, drinking water treatment, collection and distribution systems, lagoons as well as key distributor networks. Nathan brings with him years of experience as a water and wastewater operator, currently holding his C & L2 license in wastewater treatment. His experience as an Operator have given him a great foundation of process and operational knowledge. His enthusiasm, eagerness to learn and natural desire to help others have made him a great addition to the team.
Today, our team at Hamlett Environmental Technologies Company is proud to continue the longstanding legacy of providing our customers with incomparable technical support and expertise. We are aligned with industry leading manufacturers, some of which we’ve been working with since our doors opened in 1995. We are proud to provide the highest quality and innovative solutions for water and wastewater process equipment and systems. With increasing needs and challenges in the field, regulatory changes as well as new innovations and technologies becoming available, it has been a dynamic and exciting time for our field. We look forward to continuing to provide the solutions of today and the future.
